More Earl's Court Gentry Shenannigans

'Truce of the toffs'

HOW the Duke of Marlborough and Jamie Blandford – the notorious drug-addict son he tried to disinherit – have called an end to their feud. more''

Jamie was often seen lurching from one drug dealer to the next, he was less rude after a spell inside. Was a regular but totally out of it. I doubt he'd remember much of that time.

I grew up in a mansion block here and one of my more fun neighbours (they were all a riot) was Sarah Churchill, Sir Winston's daughter.

I once found that the lift (elevator) had turned from black to gold overnight. It had been the work of my mother and Sarah during the murder of some malt.

Sarah allowed me to play with a mini-piano and to paint on old bits of canvas she didn't need whilst she kept and eye on me as mum went to work during parts of the holidays. We sang songs and she read me poetry. She was mostly quite sloshed and stinky, but we liked her anyway because of our love of the family.  She once gave me a large white drum style lampshade that I took eagerly and plastered with the face of Jesus, medium - green eye-shadow. It was actually not bad.

My eldest brother Rick, also a small time actor, appeared in a version of  J.M.Barrie's 'Peter pan' in the West  End with Sarah. ' The History of Peter Pan on Stage and Screen' is found here

Here's a brief clip of the younger Sarah with Fred Astaire
