I wonder if you'd remember 'Ferdi' - an old friend of my mum from our New Chez Moi days? He had been an inmate of a Nazi concentration camp known as (wtf was that camp?) list here  'non-Jews was also killed, not in the heat of battle, not by military siege, aerial bombardment or the harsh conditions of modern war, but by deliberate, planned murder.'
